Clarifying on Percentage Points vs. Percent

Product Update -    Released On - 01/12/17

A seemingly minor, but important point of clarification on how we display impact

Clarifying on Percentage Points vs. Percent

The difference between percentage points and percent can be huge when it comes to measuring impact. Early feedback on Illume Courses showed us that could be clearer in our delineation. Henceforth, percentage point increases are now represented as 'pp' or explicitly written out for clarity.

Percentages are still represented as %. Previously, Illume Courses expressed this as 18.8% increase, which was a little misleading. For example, if the average student has a 50% likelihood of graduating, then improving their grade in this course by one letter would give this student a 68.8% (50% + 18.8%) likelihood of graduation.
